Our Boarding Facility
Anacapa Animal Hospital
is here to care for your pets when you have to be away! The same veterinary
assistants who care for our hospitalized animals also care for our boarding
kennel guests. Our veterinary assistants are trained to recognize changes
in your pet's appetite and attitude, and they work hard to keep pets
clean, comfortable and happy during their stay. We also board pets who
have ongoing medical problems and who need medication or observation.
With our veterinary staff right at hand we are able to provide medical
care for your pet when needed.
We recently remodeled our kennel facility with your pet's comfort
in mind. Our glass-front runs have a surprising calming effect on dogs
boarding in our facility. In addition to their frequent walks (long ones too!) and glass front runs, our skylights throughout the facility ensure that your pet will feel at home with natural lighting. Our feline boarding guests are kept in a seperate CAT ONLY ward for their comfort and safety.
Boarding guests are
welcome to bring toys or blankets however, we provide clean, comfortable
bedding and toys for our boarding guests that are selected for their specific
needs.
Below are policies related to boarding at our facility. These policies were written to ensure the safety and health of your pet. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions that are not answered clearly on this website.

Flea Preventative
In order to maintain a flea-free environment for all of our guests, all pets that arrive for boarding are inspected for evidence of flea infestation. If your pet is found to have fleas, it will be treated at your expense with CAPSTARŪ.CAPSTARŪ (nitenpyram) is remarkably safe and starts working in just 30 minutes. In studies, over 90% of fleas are gone within 4 hours for dogs and 6 hours for cats after being treated with CAPSTARŪ Tablets. CAPSTARŪ is safe for puppies and kittens 4 weeks and older, weighing 2 pounds or greater, as well as for pregnant or nursing dogs and cats.
If you prefer, you may also choose to drop your pet off with a flea preventative of your choice or purchase an individual dose at our clinic.
