Appointments

At Anacapa Animal Hospital we are proud of the personalized care we provide our clients. In order to provide this level of care we prefer our clients schedule appointments. However, if your pet has a medical emergency no appointment is necessary. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority followed by patients with previously scheduled appointments.

As a convenience for our clients that have busy schedules, we offer drop-off appointments. You may drop your pet off for the day to be examined by our veterinarian. Then pick them up and meet with the Doctor in the evening. When you drop off your pet, you will be asked to complete a drop-off form or you may download it today.

To schedule an appointment:
  • Please call our office at (805) 644-5521.
  • Please bring any records (including vaccine history, laboratory result, and x-rays) pertaining to your pet or if you prefer, our staff will be happy to request your records for you.
  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out a new client form or click here to download the form in advance.

Payment Policies

We accept payment via Cash, Check, Care Credit, Master & Visa Card. If paying by personal check a valid Drivers License will be required. In order to provide you with high quality services, we request that payment be made at the time of services rendered.

Veterinary pet insurance is another valuable tool to help offset the costs of not only emergency care but also routine veterinary care.

Prescription Refills

For prescription refill requests, please contact our office at: 805-644-5521.

State & Federal laws prohibit us from prescribing and dispensing prescription medicine without prior examination. Examining your pet enables us to evaluate the continued need for the prescribed drug(s). State law requires us to have examined your pet within the past 12 months. However, for many long-term therapeutic drugs your pet may need to be reexamined more frequently than every 12 months.

As defined by Section 2033 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations, and effective February 3, 1996:

  • "Prescribing, dispensing, or furnishing a drug without establishing a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship with the patient and its owner, constitutes unprofessional conduct. A drug shall not be prescribed for a duration which is inconsistent with the animal's medical condition or type of drug prescribed. In no event shall the duration exceed more that one year from the date that the veterinarian has examined the animal and prescribed such drug, unless the veterinarian has conducted a subsequent examination of the patient to determine the patient's need for the prescribed drug."
