January 2009 - Abraham
Abraham Vom Das Tal, otherwise known as "Abraham," is a 5-1/2 year old Schutzhund trained German Shepard. (Seen in the photo with his late mother, Isabel Vom Haus Vortkamp or "Bella," who was imported from Germany when she was 8 weeks old.)
Notoriety definitely runs in this family. His late mother, Bella, had a BH (Begleithund) title for her advanced obedience training, and Abraham achieved a Schutzhund 1 title. Abraham was also trained in rattlesnake avoidance this year and two days after completing his training encountered his first rattlesnake. The training was a success and Abraham safely escaped the venomous reptile.
When he is not training, Abraham loves playing in the snow and chasing falling snowflakes. His favorite toy is his indestructible rubber ball. His favorite treat is pretty much anything edible (and sometimes, some not so edible items). His favorite place to hangout is the bed of a pick up, preferably his owners. And his favorite friend to play with is Rick.
