New FDA Approved Oral Flea Preventative - Comfortis™
Anacapa Animal Hospital is excited to announce the availability of Comfortis™ at our hospital! Comfortis is the first FDA approved, chewable, beef-flavored tablet that kills fleas and prevents flea infestations in dogs for a full month. Comfortis starts killing fleas within 30 minutes of administering and has been proven to be 100 percent effective within 4 hours in laboratory studies. This chewable, beef flavored tablet is given to dogs once a month to control fleas.
This product offers a solution for pet owners who:
- Want to avoid the mess and inconvenience of topical flea preventatives
- Have children or other pets in the household.
- Have dogs with flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
- Frequently bathe their dogs.
That's right! The effectiveness of Comfortis™ won't wash off when dogs are bathed or go swimming. It's been proven safe for dogs and puppies over 14 weeks old and over 5 lbs. Comfortis™ is available by prescription only and is only available for our canine friends.
